On September 8, Queen Elizabeth II of England died at the age of 96. Queen Elizabeth II is Britain's longest-reigning monarch and the second longest-reigning monarch in world history. She is currently being mourned in England, as her son Charles III has now become King, after his succession to the throne. The Queen died at Balmoral Castle, Scotland on the afternoon of the 8th. The Queen's attending physician said before her death, "I am concerned about the health of Her Majesty. She needs treatment,” she said. The BBC, gathered in Balmoral, stopped their regular broadcasts and focused on The Queen's condition, delivering news related only to her.

The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is to be carried out with her coat of arms after a 10-day period of remembrance, according to British Royal custom. Charles III mourns the death of his, "precious monarch and his much-loved mother." “I know that the death of The Queen will bring deep sorrow to the whole of England and to the Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and millions of people around the world.” Charles III became the fifth king. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926 and her real name is Elizabeth Alexandra Marie. She ascended the throne 70 years ago on February 6, 1952 and reigned as Sovereign until September 8, 2022.

President Yun Seok-yeol attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on the 19th to pay tribute to Her Majesty, now deceased. On his arrival on September 18, he met key heads of state, including US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Liz Truss, as well as international royalty, including Emperor Naruhito and the Jordanian King and Queen. After visiting the Korean War Veterans Memorial in London on the 18th, the day of his arrival, President Yun Seok-yeol was scheduled to visit Westminster Abbey, where the body of Queen Elizabeth II is enshrined. However, due to traffic jams at the time, the next day he wrote in his mourning journal, in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II was opened to the public on September 15. As Queen Elizabeth II is a revered Queen, over two million mourners paid her condolences in three days. People had to wait an average of 15 hours to see the coffin of The Queen of England. British Prime Minister Liz Truss read the Bible and sang hymns for about an hour, followed by the dedication of Mass and the reading of Queen Elizabeth II's coat of arms.

Queen Elizabeth II was highly respected in England. She also served as the British Monarch and head of the Commonwealth for 70 years, leading Britain through the Cold War, the collapse of the Communist Bloc, the establishment of the European Union and Britain's exit. Britain and other countries continue to mourn The Queen's death.
