The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, seek to discover and encourage talented people who can lead our knowledge-based society and to foster a desirable image for our country. They announced the 100 winners -- 40 university students and 60 high school students on 2010 Oct. 11th. two of which were from Gyeongnam, including Lee Seok-jun.
Lee Seok-jun, who dreams of being the world¡¯s best automobile engineer, received a certification for car maintenance, inspection technician aheavy equipment operator. He was president of the AK club, a club for making automobiles. He also demonstrated excellent leadership and was awarded 2nd prize and a majority prize by Baja SAE Korea in an international car-making conference. Moreover, he participated in the university student car-making conference, and was awarded the 2nd prize, and received recognition for his extraordinary skills.
Lee Seok-jun said, ¡°My object is making a world-standard Korean car, and to help my country become the industry¡¯s leader. To complete my training, I will go to graduate school and learn new skills and specialized knowledge such as engineering. I¡¯d like to become a great man and be the engineer who makes the best of the best cars.
His certificate and prize money will be officially awarded by the president. The sponsor will also offer him training opportunities.
