Specialized products in Changnyeong invade Japanese market!
Processing products made by Changnyeong onion reportedly gained public favor from an exhibition which opened in Japan. The Center For Changnyeong Onion Bio-Industry of CWNU (Head, Cha Yong-Joon) participated in ‘The 2010 Exhibition and Business Meetings on Korean Local Luxury Goods’ from September 28 (Tuesday) ~ 29 (Wednesday), and achieved export consultation performances of US $2 million.

In this exhibition, 78 enterprises from 12 domestic cities and provinces took part in this business meeting. The Center For Changnyeong Onion Bio-Industry came to join in this exhibition by getting support and cooperation from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, South Gyeongsang Province, KOTRA, and KBC Osaka, which were sponsors and organizers.

Also, this center launched 14 kinds of onion-processing and onion-functional products for the first time in the Japanese market together with 5 business partners (Morning of Woopo Co., Ltd, New Green Foods Co., Ltd, New Foods Co., Ltd, Dumesan Foods, and Hwangsan Foods), and got good reviews from Japanese buyers.

In particular, Oniwell, an extract of Changnyeong onion, had gotten national authorization as functional raw material of health functional food as local agricultural products. So Oniwell has raised more interest among Japanese buyers due to its reliability and efficacy.

Also, an onion fermented alcoholic beverage, raw rice wine, in raspberry and pear flavor, released from Morning of Woopo Co., Ltd, a tier manufacturing corporation of industry-academia-government, caught the attention of a lot of buyers while keeping pace with the hot status of raw rice wine makgeolli within Japan. In addition, black onion extract and black garlic extract came to the attention of many buyers, largely through sampling and tasting.
The Center For Changnyeong Onion Bio-Industry of CWNU is making a big statement by recording good results in securing the reliability of the specialized products of Changnyeong in Japanese markets, along with its public information campaign through this exhibition. Also, this center will endeavor to enhance the degree of recognition of the specialized products of Changnyeong while attempting to expand exports afterwards through various and consistent advances to overseas markets.
