We know that lots of CWNU students sell their dormitory meal tickets on the Waagle homepage each semester.

Although dormitory administrators are cracking down on it, selling dormitory meal tickets continues for several reasons because ”Dormitory meals are not tasty,” ”There isn’t a lot of choice,” ”The time is not right.”

We conducted a satisfaction survey of 100 students living in the dormitory during the summer vacation. 57 of 100 students said they were satisfied, and 43 of 100 students said they were unsatisfied.

The following questions asked students to say why they are satisfied with the food.

First, is the meal reasonable for the price? 38.46%.

Second, is the meal nutritionally balanced? 30%.

Third, does the food suit your taste? 32.31%.

The next questions asked the students why they were dissatisfied with the food.

First, is the price too high for the food? 30.4%.

Second, is the food frequently the same or unbalanced nutritionally? 39.2%.

Third, is the food unsatisfactory to your taste? 30.4%.

The survey results show that the students who like the dormitory food are most satisfied with the price and the students are unhappy with the food are most unsatisfied with the variety and the nutritional balance.

Additional opinions were “the rice is very dry”, “the soup tastes too strong with the artificial seasoning.” and so on.

One suggestion would be for the dietitian to make a variety of dishes each day so the students could choose, or the students could use the feedback form in the cafeteria to voice their opinions. The cafeteria could also label the country of origin on the foodstuffs.
