On November 28, the first film festival by CWNU’s film club KINO was held in Building 22, room 104. The event started with a movie trailer medley of 2017 and there were various games such as charades and another in which participants watch a scene and match the title of the movie and talk about the genre. In addition, a legitimate download recommendation campaign was also conducted. The campaign introduced the Korea Copyright Commision which is creating a new copyright culture and copyright protection system. In addition, it introduced characters Changjagi & Nanumi symbolizing copyright protection and the copyrighted brand ‘Bandeut¨Ï’ and World Intellectual Property Day.
The event was organized to promote the films of this year, to recall what happened at the time of each film's debut, and to look back on the year as a whole. In addition, it was conducted to instill appropriate knowledge about copyright to students who have a lot of content and to establish a proper copyright use culture.
Kim Min-ji (Dept. of Culture Technology, 21), the leader of KINO said “We will try to encourage students’ interest in movies and copyright because we believe that the students’ higher awareness will lead to an implementation of copyright and development of Korean culture.” Lee Sang-hun (Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, 20), who saw this film festival said, “It was good to be reminded of past movies as well as 2017 with quizzes and by watching trailers. Also, it made me reminisce about memories with my family and friends and get a better understanding of copyright and creative works through legitimate download recommended campaigns.” He expressed his satisfaction with the film festival.
KINO’s first film festival was a warm time to look back on the memories of the movies and it was also a lot of fun with the various games. The new club, opened in 2010, will return to more diverse and new events such as legal download campaigns, film festivals and regular screenings in order to ingrain students with the necessary knowledge about copyright and to show their joy in movies.
