As many as one hundred thousand people looking for a job applied for SSAT (Samsung Aptitude Test) on October 12th. I also applied for the test. As I had to arrive at the test venue located in Busan by 08:30 am, I went to Busan the day before and stayed at a motel around the test venue. After taking the test, I felt like a million people took SSAT as I saw lots of applicants on my way home. Self doubt set in.

As the last week in October approaches I know that lots of company’s recruitment drives have nearly finished. I know people preparing for a job have been busier than anyone else in the last two months. I hope you all get good results.

I was not prepared by early September. I had no English scores and had not been trained in writing a cover letter. I thought that I could get a job without doing anything special. Meanwhile, my seniors in the laboratory reprimanded me for my lackadaisical state of mind, so I tried to get qualifications quickly. I had basic qualifications and thought about speculative applications. Until writing a letter of self-introduction, I didn’t realize the task in front of me because I was pretty confident that I had a variety of experience. However, I used the hours spent writing my cover letter to reflect on my arrogance. What made you choose our company and the position? What kind of attempts have you taken to be Global Leader? Why should we hire you?

These are tough questions. If I had considered them a little earlier, I might have been well prepared. I regret that I didn’t actively search employment information and have a specific plan to get a job. I am sure that if you follow in my footsteps, you will be able to find yourself on the brink of reaching graduation without any notable results.

We have to find our way in our lives by ourselves. It may be a hard time. But all hands on deck!

Let's bear in mind that if we don’t give up, we will be able make our dream come true someday.
