Hi everyone. I am the new editor-in-chief of the English newspaper you are currently reading.

Do you know what ‘The Campus Journal’ is? I think perhaps you don’t. I understand that, because I did not know about it either, before becoming a reporter for CWNU’s English newspaper. Do you know what ‘The Campus Journal’ is now? Yes, it is the name of our English newspaper. So, I want to tell you all about ‘The Campus Journal’.

CWNU’s English newspaper, named ‘THE PONGRIM MIRROR,’ published its first issue on April 6th, 1988. The name was changed from ‘THE PONGRIM MIRROR’ to ‘The Campus Journal’ in April, 2004. The English newspaper has been published biweekly since April, 2004.

And this 142nd issue of The Campus Journal (March 2011) has been published in a new way. The former newspaper was in regular format (391mm * 545mm). However, from the 142nd issue, the newspaper is now published in tabloid format (272mm * 391mm) and in full-color pages. Pages 12-16 of the newspaper are The Campus Journal. The front page is page 16.

Since March, 2010, the former newspaper mainly reported news from around the campus. But beginning from this issue, we will report not only campus news, but also about culture and foreign perspectives, as well as providing readers’ submissions, general information, and etc.

Briefly described, the new features are as follows:
Culture: An introduction to such topics as the occupations and culture of Korea, etc.
Submission: The writing of students or school personnel.
Information: For example, tips on various topics.
Please read the guidelines for Submissions that request your participation.

Yes, The Campus Journal is changing in order to report more important news and provide a greater variety of content to the reader. The Campus Journal is created entirely for you, the reader. So, I heartily hope that you like our new turn, and take an interest in The Campus Journal.
