Winter vacations, what will you do?

Leaves are fallen and winter is coming. As winter comes, vacation is coming closer. Students used to make a plan that they couldn¡¯t accomplish during the semesters. Then what kind of plans do they have? We conducted a survey of 184 CWNU students to ask their vacation plans.

Firstly, we asked, ¡®what¡¯s your plan for winter vacation?'

Many students (31%) answered they are planning ¡®trips¡® and 44 students (24%) answered they will prepare for employment. 32 student (17%) answered they are planning to study and 24 students (13%) said they will work a part-time job. Otherwise, 28 students (15%) said they had plans to read a book or join the army.

Secondly, we asked, ¡®How much do you fulfill the plans after vacation?¡¯ The students tend to make a huge plan because they don¡¯t have enough time to perform what they want during the semester. However, they didn¡¯t fulfill their plans during vacation as they expected. Only 24 students replied they completed the plans up to 90-100%. Response of 50-60% (80 students) captured the most charge of the graph.

The third question was ¡®what do you want to do if you don¡¯t have to prepare for employment?¡¯ The university changed as a place where students prepared the employment, not the place to continue studies deeply. From freshmen, some students prepared to get a job and civil service examination. Due to the employment, students who got certified or acquired language score like TOEIC are growing. The majority of student (83%) wish to travel and it was predominantly ranked No. 1. The others captured just a little percentage: studies, part-time job, reading a book and etc.

Lastly, we inquired into this question for students who didn¡¯t make a plan. We asked students to suggest activities for others. 108 students (58%) suggested going backpacking in domestic or foreign countries and 34 students suggested acquiring a language score (ex,TOEIC). Getting a certificate (18 students/10%), going abroad for language studies (16 students/9%) and outside activities (10 students/5%) followed.

As much as winter gets closer, many students look forward to it so much. A long and sweet winter vacation will start after final exams. However, to enjoy it and have a meaningful time, you¡¯d better make a solid plan.
