2014 Dae-dong-jae Festival

The Bongrim Dae-dong-jae Festival at CWNU was held from September 30th to October 2nd. The festival celebrated its 42nd year. There were many passionate performances and various special events.

At the opening ceremony, the NC Dinos and the CWNU cheerleading team Phoenix worked up the crowd. After the ceremony, a special event was hosted by the General Student Association. The Master Chef of CWNU was to choose the best dish among the department pubs. The Department of Business Administration's cheese-ramen won first prize. After the event, famous singer G.NA visited and performed enthusiastically.

On the second day, our university¡¯s clubs performed, with comedian Park Gyu-sun presiding. Performers were classic guitar club Mimi, dance clubs PYHITA and E-Masterz, bands Cyprus, She¡¯ll, Comuse, and DDangsarang, Taekwondo club Sunrang, Hiphop club 4dabeatz, and cheerleading club Phonenix. They showed off their talents with passion. At 10 p.m., a hot trot singer, Hong Jin-yeong, and Kim Jang-hoon put on very energetic shows.

On the last day, there was a performance by immigrated ladies from multicultural families. It left a deep impression on students. Then the Superstar C event was held. Many talented CWNU students participated and performed very well. When all the performances were done, the great finale featured beautiful fireworks.

The 2014 Dae-dong-jae Festival distinguished itself from former festivals due to departments' specialized projects being displayed. At Bongrim Square, the Department of Child & Family put on a program and a campaign for gender equality. The Department of Special Education had a project describing the experience of being handicapped. Many people participated in order to understand the handicapped. Students of the Department of Fine Arts drew portraits of people.

During the festival, there were many special events on campus. Near the main entrance, there was a booth to promote the construction of a comfort women monument in Changwon. They held an exhibition and sold goods designed with comfort women's pictures. Overall, the 2014 Dae-dong-jae Festival proved itself to be an instructive and enjoyable experience.
