Useful activities are all around us, in or out of school. For example, being part of The Campus Journal, CWNU newspaper and CUB (Changwon National University Broadcasting Station).

The Campus Journal publishes articles in English. It reports not only campus news but also interviews and activities. It puts emphasis on making articles that all members of CWNU read. One copy has 5 articles. The structure is simple: campus news articles and surveys are on the 2 front pages, articles for the readers are next. On the 3rd page, readers can send correspondence columns. Interviews are on the 4^th page and useful activities follow on page 5. There are 7 reporters and 1 Managing Editor at The Campus Journal. Reporters have to prepare various items for each edition. When 2 or more reporters prepare the same item, without an alternative, they must pay a fine. Cub Reporter’s, need basic qualifications and their level of English is considered.

CWNU news publishes the same day as The Campus Journal. CWNU news puts emphasis on people. A national university has higher independence when writing, so it can consider weakness in school. The newspaper contains 11 articles. Campus news is on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th pages. Pages 5, 6, 7 and 8 deal with people, society, culture and the world. Page 9 considers planning and pages 10 and 11 consider public opinion. CWNU news reporters have meetings on publication day. Every reporter has to prepare 2 campus news items and 1 item for each page. When 2 or more reporters prepare the same item, without an alternative, they must pay a fine. When it selects a cub reporter, passion is the most important thing.

CUB broadcasts all around campus at fixed times. From the Fall Semester, TV and radio broadcasts will be aired together. The radio broadcast happens when lots of students are on campus, and includes campus news and current topics. At 8:20~9:00, 12:30~13:00 and 17:45~18:15 the broadcast happens in the Bongrim building, Sarim building, main building and front gate. The TV broadcast can be watched in each building. In CUB, there are 4 jobs: production, technique, reporting and announcing. To make a radio or TV broadcast a team is needed. The selection criteria are different for each of the 4 jobs but every applicant has their own opinion about the university press. Every semester, the broadcast is different. During vacation, the members are trained and have a meeting for the next semester.

It is hard to study and work in press at the same time however there are benefits. Members of CWNU press can feel pride and responsibility and they create a comfortable atmosphere for each other. They get a scholarship and writing fee so they don’t need too much pocket money.
