Former Mongolian President Visits CWNU

On March 26th, former Mongolian president, ¬¯¬Ñ¬Þ¬Ò¬Ñ¬â¬í¬ß ¬¿¬ß¬ç¬Ò¬Ñ¬ñ¬â visited CWNU. ¬¯¬Ñ¬Þ¬Ò¬Ñ¬â¬í¬ß ¬¿¬ß¬ç¬Ò¬Ñ¬ñ¬â, the third president of Mongolia, is an important leader now. He gave a lecture about the future development and relations between Korea and Mongolia. He discussed solutions to improve relations with the president of CWNU, Lee Chan-qyu. He held a meeting with Mongolian students at CWNU, too.

In the lecture, he said, "Sometimes, if there are any historical conflicts, that means the existence of psychological barriers. However, there are no territorial disputes between Korea and Mongolia. This fact establishes friendly and intimate relations between the two countries."

Also, he told us about a feeling Mongolians have towards Korea. "When we see ¬ã¬à¬Ý¬à¬ß¬Ô¬à, we think of Korea. C¬à¬Ý¬à¬ß¬Ô¬à means rainbow. Mongolians think Korea is the country of rainbows. Rainbows are symbols of dreams and the future. This explains why rainbows are a symbol of Korea to Mongolia. We need dreams to live in the world. Korea is our dream." Lastly, he added, "I want you to think about peace in the Korean Peninsula, Northeast Asia and the whole world."

Seong Jae-ho (Dept. of Journalism), who listened to the lecture, said, "I read stories about Mongolia only in history books. So it's amazing to meet people who are actually from Mongolia, like the former president. Also, I feel once again that Korea is a developed country when I hear that Mongolians think that rainbows are a symbol of our country, and that our GDP is the goal of Mongolia."
