When you pay for college tuition, there are fees for school-supporting associations. It is used for the expansion of institutions and the operating expenses of national universities. But the management rules for national universities were revised on August 26th. The Education Ministry requested all national universities to formulate a plan to spend the 5 million won in dues collected for school-supporting associations. The deadline for the plan was on October 31st. Although the deadline came and passed, the head office of CWNU didn't mention anything to the students. That is why the Students’ Association had a signature-seeking campaign and put up posters to let students know about this. The head office of CWNU said the revision of the management rules was unexpected, so school staff are trying to solve the problem. The head office also fears that the activities of the Students’ Association will cloud the students’ judgment. The Students' Association are discontented with the attitude of the head office of CWNU. The conflict between the head office of CWNU and the Students’ Association stems from a lack of communication. If the head office of CWNU told the students about the revision, they wouldn’t be subject to criticism by students regarding the way to spend the 5 million won. The conflict started with the premise that “I am right, and you are wrong”. To solve this problem, we need to understand each other and persuade by logic rather than have distrust and hostility. It will take some time, but if we accept each other as equals with a common cause, the useless conflicts are going to disappear.
