Changnyeong Onion Bio Association of CNU held ‘the 2nd report presentation of the 1st year’ on September 28th (Monday) at 9 a.m. The presentation was held at Changnyeong Bugok Hawaii Education Cultur Center, Grand Hall.

Changnyeong Onion Bio Association celebrated its 4th year since inauguration and was founded in 2005 as a regional development project of the Ministry of Industry and Resources.

The association is to develop superior products of onions. They founded Upouiachim(The morning of Upo) last August, which is a manufacturing corporation with academic collaboration. The corporation is currently exporting and promoting black onion extracts. Related industry sales in Changnyeong province reached 22billion KRW on the 1st year through 2nd RIS business. It has increased by 15 billion KRW since they started RIS and by 500 million KRW since the 1st RIS. Online sales jumped from 200,000 KRW to 140 million KRW and recorded international sales of 800 million KRW at Vietnam Lotte Mart and South Saigon. They are currently holding 13 new exporting routes. Furthermore, they are preparing to release 2 more health products and is improving the product quality of black onion extracts.
