We have only a week left before the Daedong Festival, but it was postponed until October 6th through 9th. It came to a definite decision by a conference with a student leader, a vice student leader, the leader of female students, the association of clubs, all of CNU departments at 6:60 p.m. on September 15, 2009.
At the beginning, both of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Administration Security department directed that we must cancel or delay the event having a thousand people together for more than two days. However, on September 11, there is a formal updated announcement that if we observe well the prevention regulations and we exclude the people having high-risk for an influenza virus, we can decide by ourselves about whether or not to proceed our Daedong festival only with a permission by a local autonomous entity. During a preparatory period for Daedong festival, ‘Unanimity’ student’s association made sure to make a successful festival by holding a Star-league, sports tournament in memory of Daedong festival and banner which is made by student’s association of each department.
But unfortunately, we faced the problem of spreading infection patients of an influenza virus and change of an indicator of the government. In addition, schedule change of a KBS concert happened. Because of all these problems, we had to delay our festival. About this problem, ‘Unanimity’ students association’s planner said that on September 11, we post the promotional items including the information for prearranged events without the information for a KBS concert from 24th to 25th.
Also he said “although we are pressed for time, we should have given careful consideration to a matter. I apologize to every students for our faults as a planner.” A student leader said that we tried to deal with this problem as soon as possible. As we strongly asked for assistance to the president of CNU, we also want to get help from the relevant authorities. We will try to hold our festival irrespective of schedule of a delayed KBS concert.
