Colleges’ Athletic Meeting Concludes
Colleges’ Athletic Meeting, a large event during first semester, ended on May 16 with the College of Economics & Business’ field day. The Bongrim Athletic Meeting wasn’t held because it was abolished last year. This year The Dept. of Nursing Science won by beating the Dept. of Physical Education, the perennial powerhouse in the College of Natural Science. Other winners were the Dept. of German Language & Literature in the College of Humanities, the Dept. of Law in the College of Social Sciences, the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering, and the Dept. of Fine Art in the College of Arts.
Although it was a pleasant time, many students complain about field days. Because of music adding a delightful atmosphere during field day activities, other colleges couldn’t run their classes normally, and some students who had exams were not able to concentrate very well on their studies. In addition, due to a wrap-up party after the athletic meeting many students who study in the library and live around the university were suffered by the noise. Even though this is a concern which comes around every year, there’s little attempt to improve the problem. So, the General Students' Association will have to make a proposition, such as the addition of soundproof facilities, to CWNU headquarters as soon as possible.
