On April 9, 2013, the Second Nightingale swearing-in ceremony was held in the center for research facilities. The Nightingale swearing-in ceremony takes place after graduation when students of the Department of Nursing become nurses. Students of the Department of Nursing take oaths during a candle ritual. The Nightingale oath involves a vow not to do harmful work, and to devote one’s whole life to a career in nursing. Therefore, the candle ceremony, along with the Nightingale oath entails the reading of a written oath. Since then, letters of congratulation are given to seniors and representatives of the various medical associations. After the opening speech, the ceremony goes on to the celebration stage immediately. The A short concert was performed by the third-year nursing students, along with students of a guitar club. First, the guitar club members played a simple rhythm and sang a song. After, the nursing students as a group sang a chorus and shouted, “Fighting seniors!!” in order to offer best wishes for success to the seniors. Seniors appreciated heartfelt celebration. It caused a tearful and emotional reaction, and was deeply moving. Lastly, the nursing students sang the school song in unison, completed the closing ceremony and finished the second Nightingale swearing-in ceremony with a commemorative photo shoot.
