What kinds of things do companies want job seekers to have?

The time stole like an arrow. Another year is almost gone already. For students preparing for graduation, this time is to plan to get a job in the first half year. Most job seekers are looking for employment now so they may be very busy with preparing some certificates, aptitude tests like the SSAT, interview practice, resumes, cover-letter, etc. These kinds of things are called making SPEC.

But what is it that companies demand from job seekers? To know that, you should analyze what is the right person for the company you want to join. It is the most important step in seeking jobs.

The right person for the company is the kind of person that companies, schools, public institutions, etc. want. Actually, six of ten companies approved applicants corresponding to their right person rather than SPEC. It is certainly proved in the interview process.

Nowadays, job seekers want to join with major companies. So I¡¯ll introduce some examples of the right person for the company.

1. CJ
a) Open mind
CJ wants people who can achieve the aim of the whole shooting match with accepting diversity and probability. (teamwork and respect)
b) Flexible thinking
CJ wants people who can think on their feet; develop forward thinking solutions, analysis, and understanding about the situation. (creativity)
c) Sense of Responsibility
CJ wants people to have loyalty to the group and a well-formed entrepreneurial spirit. And they should complete their outlook with flexibility and an open-mind. (honesty and challenging)

2. Korean Air
a) A go-ahead person
Korean Air wants creative people, who don¡¯t settle for the present, be timorous of change during work.
b) Good manners, an ethos of service
Every airline including Korean Air wants these qualities. Service comes from the heart. Consideration to the customer. Also it is important for flight attendants to have a decent appearance.
c) Person having an International Sense
Korean Air wants people to have proper linguistic abilities within our era of internationalization. They don¡¯t expect people to simply know foreign languages, but to understand and know the culture and etiquette of the countries well.
d) Diligent, responsible person
They say that people always try hard to do anything with responsibility. Korean Air thinks results are as important as progress.

3. Starbucks
a) COFFEE MAN
COFFEE MAN has knowledge and attachment with coffee, and likes it. Also, they always aim to be the best and love the company¡¯s working principles.
b) CULTURE MAN
CULTURE MAN is a principle of cultural enterprise which provides the 3rd space, and they create cultural content and spread them well.
c) CUSTOMER MAN
In the customers¡¯ shoes, CUSTOMER MAN understands customers and respects them. And with the knowledge and passion they have, they can satisfy customers.

4. Uniqlo
a) People aim to make UNIQLO a global #1 together.
b) People have vision and enthusiasm for the future.
c) People think in the shoes of customers and carry it into effect.

We should analyze what is the right person for the company completely while job seeking. If we focus too much on SPEC, we will have trouble seeing what companies really want in employees. And when you prepare for your interviews, it is effective and proper to think about the experiences you have had.
