CWNU Int'l Affairs 'Go Abroad' Program
CWNU students participate in an orientation for the 'Go Abroad' program at the International Affairs Building
CWNU International Affairs offers various 'Go Abroad' programs to cultivate future-oriented students who wish to prepare themselves for globalization and to improve their qualifications. To communicate information about the program to students, International Affairs held a presentation on September 15th and 16th. The program is divided into two parts, 'Study Abroad' and 'Global Campus'.
First, the 'Study Abroad' program is sub-divided into three categories: exchange students, language study abroad, and the education empowerment project. In the ¡®Exchange Student¡¯ program, students are dispatched to universities in Japan, China, Germany, and Russia for a year. The application periods and dispatch times are different. Also the foreign universities¡¯ tuition fees and the students¡¯ living expenses will be supported by the university at different levels according to the various colleges. However, students will pay CWNU tuition fees.
In the case of University of San Francisco (USF) in the USA, the dispatch time is from next March to the following February. Students are exempted from USF tuition fees but must pay CWNU tuition fees, and the students¡¯ living expenses are not supported.
In the 'Language study abroad' program, students are vdispatched to France, Germany and America. The standards for application vary according to University demands. And in some cases, students must take an exam or interview.
The ¡®Education empowerment project' is a field trip aboard program and is being implemented for the first time this year. This program is participated in by teams. Each team has to plan how they will connect their major with travel abroad, and the plans will be judged.
The second major section of the program, the ¡®Global Campus¡¯ program, is divided into the ¡®International Students Support Program¡¯ and an ¡®Education Empowerment Project.¡¯ The ¡®International Students Support Program¡¯ includes cultural experience, global athletic meets, global festivals, and a farewell party. All programs are intended for foreign students. The ¡®Education Empowerment Project¡¯ includes global supporters, enjoying beautiful Korea, and a major study camp. All programs are intended for Korean and foreign students, in particular the Global Supporters program which matches a Korean student with a foreign student and involves language exchange and participation in cultural experience programs.
Apart from the above programs, International Affairs offers the 'One To One' and 'West' programs. Through the 'West' program students can do both language study abroad and internship. For more information, register on Facebook (facebook.com/CNU international) or visit International Affairs!
