Volunteer activity:A privilege for university students
A lot of students nowadays are doing volunteer work for a number of reasons. For many, it is a way to improve their job application credentials. For some, it is purely for self-satisfaction. Whatever the reason, volunteering is good work.
There are many volunteering programs that are specifically catered for university students. Let¡¯s look at some volunteer programs available in Changwon city:

1. Sharing your talents
The program ¡®Sharing your talent¡¯ is a typical university student¡¯s volunteer activity. This program involves the sharing of knowledge or information about your major to younger students who wish to take up your course in the future. Many students have successfully participated in this program. Common courses included in the program are language courses such as English or Korean, and art courses such as music or fine arts. Majoring in language or arts is not a requirement.

2. Sungsan Community Social Welfare Center
The center is located near the university. It is duly authorized by CWNU so doing volunteer work here is not only credited by the university but is helpful when applying for other volunteer programs such as the one below (option 3).
The center offers many kinds of volunteer work. First, there is ¡®Regional Protection¡¯, a program that includes delivering lunch boxes, caring for the elderly, giving massages and free hair cut. The ¡®Education & Culture¡¯ program includes computer classes, yoga, and writing. The ¡®Family Welfare¡¯ program operates a weekend camp. You can also work at the children¡¯ welfare center called ¡®Nulpuren¡¯ and teach academic subjects, public order and social manners to children.

3. Study service
¡®Saekbeol¡¯ is a center that helps children of underprivileged families. ¡®Saekbeol¡¯ means ¡®rising star¡¯ and volunteers at the center help educate children from low-income families. These families can¡¯t afford to send their children to academies for private lessons so the children tend to fall behind in their academic work.
Volunteer work is a worthwhile activity. Volunteering provides unique opportunities and gives you a chance to give something back and make a difference.
