Motorcycle accidents are on the rise and the penalty for driving without a license has been recently strengthened. Korean traffic laws are now being strictly enforced; it is therefore essential for motorists to have a license to drive. In case of foreigners, they can apply for a driver’s license in Korea if they have a license issued in their home country. However, a lot of foreigners fail to do this since the process of driver’s license application is quite complicated and sometimes, they are required to take a driving test.

CWNU foreign students can acquire a motorcycle license from the Changwon Central Police Station. Those who are interested should get an application form from the International Affairs department. They should bring three ID pictures and pay \10,000 for the application. They should submit their application to the International Affairs department on time. The deadline for application is on Monday, April 11 at 11 a.m. After the submission of applications, the applicants will be taken to the Changwon Central Police Station either on April 11 at 3 p.m. or April 12 at 11 a.m. The applicants are also required to take a health examination at the health center. After the health check-up, they should remember to get a receipt from the police station’s public service center.

The following week on Wednesday, April 20, the applicants should take a written exam and a practical exam. The exams will be given in the morning only. Vehicles for the practical exam and translations will be provided. The written exam is available in many languages such as English, Chinese, etc.
CWNU foreign students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire motorcycle license in order to avoid getting into trouble in the future.
