On July 21st, CNU Human Resource Development Center for Offshore Engineering launched at Changwon International Hotel.

CNU is making a reputation on human resource development for offshore engineering.

The government divides the whole country into seven wide economic blocks. The government is going to foster these blocks in priority and support much budget to twenty universities. CNU was only selected in Gyeongsangnam-do and is going to receive twenty five billion won in five years. CNU set a goal which breed up excellent engineers in offshore engineering and originate high standard research results. CNU breaks down the wall of departments and organize a course of study harmoniously.

CNU Human Resource Development Center for Offshore Engineering consists of nine departments; Mechanical eng, Electrical eng, Electronic eng, Control & Instrumentation eng, Environmental eng, Chemical eng, Civil eng, Information & Communication eng and Shipbuilding eng. The students who participate in offshore engineering curriculum should select a course of three study tracks; platform, plant and safety & green energy. These study tracks are merged curriculum without department distinction. The students should get 60 credits at center studies, 42 credits at major studies, 30 credits at MSC, 18 credits at specialized cultural studies. In this semester, the students should participate in special lecture and study tour more than 10 hours. The center provides every students with scholarship, opportunity of oversea study, international interchange and English dormitory.

On July 21st, Park Seong-Ho who is the president of CNU said that “I’m glad that CNU was selected as a member of wide economic blocks leading project. It was difficult for CNU to be selected by ourselves. I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to many professionals in CNU and the chief executives of national organizations, institutes and corporations. We’ll endeavor in order to build a foundation of offshore engineering.”
