CNU canoe club won 2 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal at the 1st 2009 Asian Universities Canoe Competition. Kim Young -Joon won 1st place in K-1 1000m, 2nd place in K-1 500m, Kim Tae-Un won 1st place in C-1 1000m, 2nd place in C-1 500m, and 3rd place in C-1 200m.

Kim Gil-Woo and Muk Hyun are freshmen but attracted attention by winning 2nd place in the K-2 1000m. The 2009 Asian Universities Canoe Competition was held at the Singapore National University from the 16th to the 20th and 13 universities, including 2 from our country, participated. The canoe club’s coach Kim Jong- Tae stated “ total of 13 teams participated in this competition but it was a good place to share information and make new friends. It was a good event especially since we grasped that our students are not lacking when competing with foreign students and gained confidence.'
