The CWNU Cooperative has increased university cafeteria prices since October 4th 2022. The meal ticket price of Bongrim student Hall has generally increased. In the case of Sarim Student Hall, meal ticket prices haven’t increased, but a variety of menus have been added.

The CWNU Cooperative increased meal prices of the faculty cafeteria. The faculty cafeteria sells a set menu, which is the only menu to purchase from. Its price varies depending on the different people who buy the sets. The members of CWNU pay 1,000 won less than an outsider who doesn’t belong to the CWNU. In the past, the meal price was 4500 won for members, and 5500 won for outsiders. However, since the price increases was carried out, the meal prices have been sold for 5500-, and 6500 won respectively.

Likewise, the student cafeteria also sells the set menu differently by buyer, which means members of CWNU can purchase the meal ticket less than an outsider. In the past, the set menu was 3,000 won for CWNU students, and 4000 won for an outsider. However, since October 4th, the meal prices have increased by 800 won, and 1,000 won respectively. They are sold for 3,800 won, and 5,000 won respectively. Moreover, in the student cafeteria, there are also other menus, which are ttukbaegi and deopbap. The price of the menu item, ttukbaegi, has increased from 4,500 won to 5,500 won. However, there is no price increase for deopbab.

If you want to eat a meal in the cafeteria, you need to buy a ticket first. You can buy the ticket for the faculty cafeteria from a meal ticket station of Bongrim Hall. The meal station is located on the stationary on the first floor of Bongrim Hall. The stationary is available at 9:00 a.m., and it closes at 6:00 p.m. The faculty cafeteria serves lunch from 11:20 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and dinner is available from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Furthermore, before having lunch in the student cafeteria, what you have to do is buy a ticket at the meal ticket vending machine. The student cafeteria operates only at lunch time, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you possess a past meal ticket, and you want to use it, it needs to be paid for with an extra fee. In the case of the faculty cafeteria’s ticket, you should visit the meal ticket station. As you pay for extra expenses, they exchange it for a new ticket. On the other side, there is a vending machine in the student cafeteria. You can find the extra price button on the screen of the machine, and if you pay for it, it will be printed. If you show the extra price receipt and past meal ticket to the server at the same time, the process is almost complete. What’s next after buying a ticket? Go ahead and enjoy your delicious meal!

The last time that CWNU changed the meal prices was in 2019. Three years later, the new meal prices started to increase in 2022. The main cause of price changes is inflation. The CWNU Cooperative have suffered financial trouble since Covid-19 started. Therefore, it was inevitable to increase cafeteria meal prices.

The CWNU Cooperative mentioned that they will try to do their best to diversify day-to-day menus and improve meal quality based on the cafeteria satisfaction survey conducted at the end of July 2022. You can read the full text they uploaded on the Waagle website in the-, CWNU portal service.

During lunch time, the cafeteria is crowded with lots of students. After Covid-19 was relieved, face-to-face classes started, and the number of users of the cafeteria has increased. The change of menu diversification and food quality improvement with price increase are expected to bring various alterations to all CWNU members.
