Changwon University Holds Preliminaries for 'Southeast E-Mobility Festival'

On August 31st, the university preliminaries for the 2023 Southeast E-Mobility Festival, were held in the 1st floor showroom of the 82nd building of Changwon University. It was held to create a platform smart manufacturing engineering industrial complex, and to activate industry-academia in practical machine education, according to the demand of local industries.

A total of 12 teams will advance to the finals through the university preliminaries held at Changwon University, and the career competition will be held on January 27 next year. Various teams with E-Mobility ideas participated in this year's university qualifiers. Participating schools included Changwon University, Kyungnam University, Gyeongsang University, Inje University, Youngsan University, Ulsan University, and Changshin University. The aim of the 2023 Southeastern E-Mobility Festival project is to discover innovative ideas in the E-Mobility field at participating universities, and train local talent.

The application period for this festival was from 9:00 on August 8, 2022 to 16:00 on August 26, 2022. We went to the colleges, Inje University, Yeongsan University, Ulsan University, and Joshin University. The selection criteria were to evaluate commercialization and solution proposals, problem recognition, and so forth. Support can be provided by email, and the documents to be submitted included a participation application form, personal information collection and usage agreement, the 1st Southeast E-Mobility Festival Participation Pledge, and presentation materials.

Lee Jae-sun, Changwon University Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform Smart Manufacturing Engineering Project Director, said, “This year, the Southeast E-Mobility Festival is not just an idea competition, but an opportunity to directly participate in the manufacturing industry. We will gather our strengths to discover excellent human resources and contribute to the development of industries in Southeast Asia, and the creation of jobs." In 2023, the teams that have passed the Southeastern E-Mobility Festival university preliminaries and advanced to the finals, will be able to materialize their ideas, creating promotional materials for their planned products. We provide opportunities for education from founding to production.

On the other hand, the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Area Innovation Platform Smart Manufacturing Engineering Business, is promoting university education innovation projects such as 'building a customized curriculum system for companies based on job ability, reorganizing the educational environment, and space centered on phenomena'. In addition, we plan to build a support system, so that high-level human resources can find employment at local companies. Then, in order to build a breakthrough innovation platform for land-based new industrial manufacturing, we will study the development of nano-fusion material component technology, for the manufacturing industry base. We are also researching core technology development for the full cycle utilization of the hydrogen industry.
