Changwon University Experience Event to Improve Perception of the Disabled

The department of special education at Changwon University hosted the 20th "Step Together" event to mark the Day of the Disabled. The department of special education at Changwon University held an annual event to improve awareness of the disabled on April 12.

It conducted plays, videos, sign language, and performances in Changwon University's 85th building to improve awareness of the disabled. On Tuesday, it held a disability experience event in front of Jeongwoo Sang Market in Yongho-dong, Changwon, to mark Disabled Persons Day. By drawing lots, you could experience wheelchairs, cane, crutches, and Braille. After finishing the experience, you also received a small souvenir. The experience event, which ran from 10 p.m. to 3 p.m., involved about 300 Changwon citizens and involved various age groups.

Min Seo-young, 22, president of the Welfare Committee for the Disabled, and Chae Yu-ri, a 23-year-old student of the Special Education Association, added, "We hope this event will improve people's awareness of disability, understand what inconveniences disabled people are suffering, and provide a chance to look at disabled people with this event."
