Let¡¯s look at some recent situations of school violence. Particularly, the percentage of middle school student violence is the highest because the younger someone is, the more likely they will have experienced it. It is very difficult to distinguish victims from bullies and many times victimized students become bullies themselves and cause more violence to other students because they don¡¯t want to be seen as victims of violence.
Moreover, influence in schools by ¡®juvenile delinquents¡¯ increases more and more. It is also feared that the situation of collective bullying will increase and emotional violence will rise with SNS networking and SMS increases.
Also nowadays, sexual assault and sexual molestation are increasing every year. Occurrences of group-rape, forced masturbation, spreading malicious and pornographic pictures, movies or rumors on the internet of victims is also increasing. A recent example was a student was group-raped by other bullies because the student didn¡¯t listen to the bullies. After that, the student was threatened with having the video of the rape spread on the internet.
But that kind of violence doesn¡¯t seem to decrease and in fact increases year after year. Parents, teachers, and the educational circles need to address the situation with actions instead of just rhetoric. To deal with the continuance of school violence, strict and long-term countermeasures to it should be decided upon promptly. Also, policy with respect for human rights is necessary for these situations.
