CWNU’s festival, Daedongjea is over. Some students prepared this occasion for a long time, and also many other students looked forward to enjoying it. I think, the result of this festival was great. Each bar did good business, many students had a joyful time, and they were beautiful radiating their youthfulness.
In my case, I worked at a bar, Shakes Beer, which was run by our department of English Language & Literature, for three days. Do you think I feel sorry? My answer is NO, because I was not alone. While I was working in our bar, I felt all of the older and the younger students pulled together. We divided into two teams, serving and cooking, and worked in rotation. It was an effective way and we were hand in glove. I was surprised at our cooperation. We decided menus, went to market, prepared food, and touted it on the street by ourselves. Each student experienced something new and had a chance to deal with various problems with their colleagues. Bright lights, exciting music, and vital people made a memorable time in our bar.
As I wandered around, there were many different events for students. Making natural air fresheners and lip balm, galleries, traditional Korean outdoor performances, tattooing, displaying data of forums, and a dance club were prepared. Apart from drinking, a lot of valuable activities passed off. Among them, a video competitive exhibition from the department of Special Education was very impressive. The topic was PBS(Positive Behavior Support) and UDL(Universal Design for Learning). Students showed their videos and people voted for the best one. A few people took part in the vote, and gained some good knowledge. The sight was nice to look at. Such an event made our festival diverse and abundant.
In this time, another name of Daedongjea, a Lost Property Office, meant to return our youth. I was so satisfied with not only the purpose but also the result. I am sorry that this festival is the last one which we can enjoy with alcoholic drinks. However, I believe we can make a new style of festival for everyone. That will surely give us another special memory. In this way, Daedongjea would continue with us.
