Various citizen humanities lectures by CNU have received favorable reactions from the public. CNU subscribes for the Support projects for Citizen humanities lecture hold by National Research Foundation of Korea to communicate with local community and to invigorate humanities through popularization. The theme of CNU was an advanced humanities lecture with troops in Gyeongnam. The final selection was announced on December 23, 2009.

For the last 2 years, CNU has opened a humanities lecture for army soldiers total 250 hours. It created a great sensation not only in the community. But it also offered services inside. So CNU emerged as the new Blue Ocean of humanities. Consequently, the National Research Foundation of Korea provided CNU with the funds and research expenses. The envisioned troops is the 39th Ay and the army general service in Changwon, the Naval Academy and base headquarters in Jinhae, military personnel and military family of 39 army among Jinju, Haman, Changnyeong. It will provide various fields of humanities lectures to these people. For example, they offer culture, history, philosophy, and art. This program also includes exciting our door lecture at museum, an art gallery. It is supposed to participate in this program a total 7 thousands people a year. Both the financial support area and the range of training target this year has increased this year. The lecture is also composed of full-bodied and constructive program.

This lecture is beneficial because CNU can return an accumulated store of knowledge by studying and giving a lecture to society when discussing issues from the CNU point of view. As for the troops, by making a connection between the community and the army, they can break away from the closed-minded images many people have and get an open-minded image. So this it will be mutually beneficial to both CNU and the army. During the period of service, the soldiers get the opportunity to reflect seriously upon their own lives and gain a better understanding of people and society. This will help them become more qualified as a solid citizen after leaving the army.
