This past July, Changwon National University was selected in the ACE project which enabled its university to strive further in strengthening not only general education and major education, but also supporting professors to teach which will reinforce CWNU to be a competent teaching university. While many programs are currently going underway for the faculties and the students, not many students know about the ACE project. Then, what is the ACE organization and what programs are there that they prepared for us?

ACE is an acronym for Advancement of College Education which is an organization that selects a certain number of universities every year and supports expenses for the chosen universities for 4 years. Its purpose is to seek a model university with specified characteristics and hopes that the model universities can spread the programs to other universities in Korea.

CWNU has managed to qualify for the ACE standards in business plan in step 1 and also in field evaluation in step 2. Winning 1st place in Kyoungnam region's education-centered university evaluation supports the reason of the result. Currently, CWNU ACE organization has programs for students such as 'CWNU education consulting and enhancing major subjects' which is a program for enhancing self-directed learning skills and student diagnosis and evaluation called 'Navigate who I am'. In addition, there are other programs such as and 'Top ACE mileage', 'TA utilization', 'On site learning related to major courses', 'Tour support for overseas' and 'Tri-mentoring' program .

Lee Sung-ho who is in charge of Changwon National University ACE Administration said, “Even though we are trying our best effort to promote the ACE project, students are still not familiar with the ACE project and the programs we have prepared for them.” He also added that since not many students participate, students should participate in the programs and receive a variety of advantages ahead.
