On April 29^th, the Language Education Center hosted the English Speech Contest as part of the specialized business. It went from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the seminar room in the library. This contest is not only for competition but for increasing CWNU students’ interest about English. Although students have to convey their point in English, 12 students who are in various majors such as Dept. English Language & Literature, Dept. of Journalism & Mass communication and Dept. of Economics participated in this contest. They spoke logically with diverse topics.

First place went to Hong Dae-gi (Dept. of Economics) who spoke about ‘A philosophic doubt about happiness’. He said “I like English and I want to experience as much as I can before graduation. Also I used to participate in many programs which were hosted by the Language Education Center. So I participated in this contest too. I vaguely spoke with an easy mind but I met with good results. I think I should be more modest. Thank you.”
