Impolite Students in the Library

There are a lot of people in the library during the exam period. According to the seat reservation system, ¡®clicker¡¯, more than a thousand students reserve seats per day. A lot of students seem to study hard, but some are disruptors. We conducted a simple survey with around 200 students regarding the biggest ¡°disruptors¡±.

1. People who reserve seats, but never appear. 22%

Most CWNU students are familiar with the ¡®clicker¡¯ reservation system. It is a useful application, but it also causes some problems, such as making reservations, then never appearing. It causes more difficulties because lots of students reserve seats in the morning. ¡°I cannot get a seat because most of them are already reserved¡±, said an anonymous student. ¡°But some reserved seats are not occupied for a long time, and some are never occupied. I think some students just reserve the seat and don¡¯t study. Reservation seats are like insurance for them.¡± 22 percent of 200 students replied that this kind of student is the worst.

2. Couples in the reading room. 20%

Couples are the number two problem. There are many campus couples at CWNU, and many of the surveyed said that they should date outside or in private places, not in the reading room. Some couples sit side by side, and grope constantly. From touching hands to light kissing, they make other students feel ¡°sorrow for being solo. Why do they do this in front of me? It makes me crazy!¡± Sleeping couples even embrace each other in the library lounge, and it makes people grimace at the sight. The Library is a public place, so please act like mature CWNU students.

3. Taking up seats with personal belongings. 18%

Some students take up two or three seats with their baggage. It is a mess, with notebooks, tumblers, books, papers and various other things displayed immethodically. Students next to them suffer from difficulties and inconveniences. They have to wait until things are removed, and cannot easily concentrate because of everything around them. Students need consideration for other students.

Other rankings: 15 percent of respondents hate people who whisper constantly in the reading room. 13 percent said they hate smelly people who smoke or don¡¯t wash. 9 percent say that the most annoying thing is ringing and vibrating phones. The remaining 3 percent chose another reason.

As a large number of students use the library, some impolite students have to recognize their wrong behavior, and have consideration for other students.
