In 2009, CNU showed an employment rate of 73.6%(an employment index of 58.55), taking the second place among 18 national universities throughout the nation. CNU took the fourth and the third positions for employment rates in 2007(61.9%) and 2008(72.8%) respectively among the national universities, showing a high employment rate. The director of the department for the general labor development at CNU said, Due to the conditions of location for Changwon National Industrial Complex and the activity of the shipbuilding industry, it has become easier for the university to offer employment opportunities to the students. For the last semester, 250 students participated in the program, and 70% of them were successful in employment. Among the students, the information capability of General Human Resources Center is highly evaluated. For such a high evaluation, the staff in charge of employment, who have personally visited 605 companies in the region of Gyeongsangnam-do and investigated their recruiting processes to collect the necessary information, have made great contributions. General Human Resources Center at CNU is currently operating 20 employment programs to achieve 80% of employment rate in 2010 with such projects as the first-foundation project, the ability-development project and the employment-strengthening project.
