This year, the trial was named 'The One Broken Flower' and dealt with child sex offenses due to the pedophilia, a psychological disorder that favors sexual contact with children who haven¡¯t reached puberty yet. Recently, acts of sexual molestation of children have been dramatically increasing. It is becoming a social ill, and people want to reduce incidents of sexual assault and protect children. Because of this, many people got interested about this mock trial.
"The mock trial was interesting," says Shin Bit-na (Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication). "I felt like watching the popular drama ¡°I Can Hear Your Voice' this year because I could see many court trial scenes. Although the subject was different, I could concentrate on the trial because it was really interesting and the students' acting was superb. I highly anticipate watching another mock trial that in 2015."
The mock trial was also a special experience to students in the Department of Law. "It was a chance to think deeply about the justice that law seeks. I could learn the real process of how a trial proceeds. It was a precious experience." says Jeong Woong, who acted in the trial.
