The camp started with a meeting with Kim Seo-ok (Gyeongnam Section Chief of Women¡¯s Policies) who succeeded in her own career field. After that, students discussed various kinds of career barriers with the instructor. Career barriers are the obstacles we experience when looking for employment. Internationally authorized English tests, such as TOEIC, TEPS, TOEIC SPEAKING, and OPIC were ranked highest. Students felt that obtaining high TOEIC scores was the most difficult thing. On the second day, students had meetings with seniors who succeeded in landing a job. They talked about the career barriers they had experienced and the preparation process for employment. The meeting was followed by a question-and-answer session.
Students in the camp sympathized with each other, shared similar worries, and were grateful to hear the seniors¡¯ experiences.
The camp offered the chance for students to develop and improve themselves. The WCDC provides not only female students but also male students with consultations about employment and psychology, and study programs to help develop English skills. Students should join these kinds of programs regularly.
