In the first part, the CWNU Choir, which consists of 45 music students, sang seven hymns, such as Magnificat, Hymn of the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:46-55), instrumental accompaniment. What¡¯s unique about this concert is that students from the Department of Music who do not major in voice, such as piano and composition majors, sang four songs in chorus with simple choreography during the second part of the performance, as a non-specialty choir consisting of 56 students. Although the non-specialty choir was short in songs, their concert gave an emotional charge though their passion and strong will to please us. Many concerts and events have been planned globally for the bicentennial of the great Italian composer Verdi¡¯s birth, and the CWNU Choir sang four hymns from his opera masterpieces, such as Gerusalem, Gli arredi festivi and Sanctus, during the final portion of the concert.
