The Gyeongnam Women¡¯s Leader Course endeavors to promote competent female workers in this era of globalization. To celebrate this course, on April, 16, 2013, New York Citizen Center (KACE)¡¯s executive director, Kim Dong-seok, gave a two-hour speech at CWNU. He majored in politics in a city college in New York in 1977. However, he thought America was dangerous due to the L.A riots in 1992. To face this problem, he changed his major to nonprofit management, and he started a citizen¡¯s campaign. During this time, Mr. Kim met President Obama. In an era of globalization, South Korea actively helps the United States, and president Obama openly discusses Korea. Now, his life project involves moving to the United States to protect South Korea. He led the development of the relationship between South Korea and the United States, and implemented the goal of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. Additionally, Mr. Kim does many things for Korea. Mr. Kim spoke about Washington, Obama¡¯s diplomacy, and the environment. He explained about changing Washington, and neo-cons, or neo-conservatives. He talked about America¡¯s diplomatic policies, and political circumstances. He said you can do anything if you obsess over and focus on what you want.
He gave courage to participants of the Gyeongnam Women¡¯s Leader course; stating that one who concentrates and is faithful can win. The students who attended listened carefully to Mr. Kim¡¯s speech, and looked like they learned many things. This lecture was valuable.
