Spec? Stop!

The second semester is drawing to an end! In other words, the graduation season is upon most seniors.. You may feel constrained to find a job.

It is a reality that the students who are preparing for jobs are competing for few jobs. To adapt a proverb, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than to get a job in a good company. It is no longer true to say that a degree from a prestigious university and outstanding specs can automatically land you a good job. Some people get private lessons from consultants for their specs.

The gap between rich and poor is getting bigger for those entering the employment market. And there¡¯s not a lot job seekers can do apart from improving their qualifications. Corporations also have no choice but to choose the most qualified applicant to keep their objectivity. One major company¡¯s executive tells the truth that they give the higher spec applicant high marks because they must draw an accurate conclusion in only a brief time.

So what are the key specs? According to a survey from an online job-search site, the specs that people want to eliminate or ease off are alma mater, language grades, age, university grades, old school ties, or specialized licenses. Is it right to pay less attention to these? Focusing on them causes some side effects.

Some applicants may have good specs, but just be good-looking people who fall short of the company's expectations because they neglected their personal skills during their school years. So companies feel cheated.

Therefore, companies that do not set their standards by specs, old school ties, family backgrounds, and so on, but use the open recruitment method are on an increase these days.

So, what are the new benchmarks for judging? They are being well-behaved, being respectful of others, acquiring the basics, having good judgment, having the ability to achieve, etc. Some corporations prefer smart applicants who have a strong will to win, ambition, talent, passion, and novelty, rather than using the old boy network. The essential particulars of the letter of self-introduction are having played a leading role at their school, and having gotten over difficulties within a group.

This way, different companies judge the right people differently for their company, according to their own priorities. You should pick over the key points that the companies want, calculating their suitability for you, in order to get a good job.
