They were selected as the gold prize winners for their work, ¡®History flow in the City¡¯ which proposed plans for a ¡®boat-train line green way¡¯ (a walkway using a train line) and ¡®the Masan harbor history culture exhibit facilities.¡¯
Last June, KIRA (Korea Institute of Registered Architects) and KIA (Korea Institute of Architects) in Gyeongsangnam-do held this competition in order to train the juniors who would lead the future of architecture. This competition accepted 138 works. The scale of this competition was previously limited in Gyeongsangnam-do, but this year¡¯s competition widened the field to include people who major in architecture.
The awards ceremony for this competition was held at Jinju National University on October 19, and the work exhibition was held at the same place from October 19-22.
In addition to Je Bo-Ra and Back Jeong-Rim, the Dept. of Architecture Engineering has turned out many prizewinners. ¡®U&I TOGETHER,¡¯ a Changwon city collective housing area plan by Gwon Ji-Won and Jeon Man-Gi received the best prize, and Kim Na-Hee¡¯s ¡®Change to connected path¡¯ won the same prize.
Grand Prize winner Je Bo-Ra said, ¡°I put emphasis on vitalization of a connected history of the marine park and Masan with this work, and I was so happy with the grand prize. Thanks to everyone who helped to me. Especially, I thank Professor Cho Hyeong-Gyu and Yu Jin-Sang. I have seen a lot of students in architecture who gave up, and I was so sad, and genuinely sorry. I hope that my juniors will not give it up, and will achieve their dream of being an architect.¡±
