On June 3rd, CWNU hosted an invitational lecture by Korean classical musician Oh Jung-Hae. The movie 'Seo Pyun Jae' was presented be fore her lecture. The lecture consisted of her life story and the story of Korean classical music. As soon as the lecture started, she said she was very excited and felt good about CWNU.
But on the other hand, she mentioned that she was amazed that Gyeongnam Province did not have a Korean classical music dept. That is an intense cultural poverty. she hoped that Korean classical music is strongly promoted by a department at CWNU. So she requested that we stay proud of our cultural tradition.
She has had such a curious life, and is so proud. she said,"After i attended a Pansori Institute, I practiced Korean classical dance until I was out of my mind. I rushed to the teacher's home and since I was 16 years old, I practiced the sound at YUDAL mountain cave at 4:00am." Her instinct for sound appeared to her when she was young, and she practiced sound.
Furthermore, the lecture was not only her life story of adversity and overcoming, but also the story of her teacher kim So-Hee, the Korean classical music master singer. She taught the audience a bit of Korean classical music sound before reciting a pansori for everyone who participated in the lecture. First she sang a shout song with the audience
