CWNU is ranked 23rd among the country's 'University Academic Excellence Award.' For this contest, 10 universities will be selected as finalists in early June and the selected universities will be supported a 3billion won fund for 4 years . CWNU made it to the preliminary round, together with other large scale metropolitan universities, 5 medium scale metropolitan universities, 5 large scale local universities and 9 small scale local universities were also selected. CWNU is included in the small to medium scale local universities.

In the secondary round, 1~2 large scale local universities and 4~5 small to medium scale local universities will be selected. In the preliminary round, the competitive rate was 5:1, but competition gets tiugher in the next round with the rate 2:1. For the other contest 'Advancement of undergraduate education'. 23 universities were chosen among 125 universities nationwide. At first, the documents were under evaluation, and now, on-site visits and assessment interviews are underway.

Lee mi-sic, college planning Information director from seoul women's College which recently received on-site inspection said "Harmony-type leader training and the like emphasizes on character education." she added "we are not large scale university but there is a good relationship between professors and students, The results are as good as expected, strengthening the capacity of the students." During on-site inspection, CWNU should highlight its features and strong points. Despite its small scale size, CWNU boasts of a strong engineering college. CWNU is best known for its engineering majors, which explains the high employment rate among its graduates. If these advantages are emphasized, there is no dlubt that CWNU will be selected.
