The CWNU College of social Sciences athletic meeting was held at the staduim on Friday, May 7th. Participating departments were Journalism & Mass Communication, Chinese Studies, Sociology, Public Administration, International Relations, and Law. Among the athletic competitions, the Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication defeated the Dept. of Chinese Studies in the final soccer game. The Dept. of Law won the basketball competition.
In addition, the Dept. of International Relations beat the Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication in foot volley ball. The Dept. of Chinese Studies won in kickball and dodge ball, the Dept. of Sociology won the girl's soccer game. There were also contests in tug-of-war, Korean wrestling, take kanchyo, makeolli drinking, and group jump rope. Then Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication won the match in the athletic meeting's highlight, the group relay.
Although the favorite's for the all-round championship were the departments of Journalism & Mass Communication, Chinese Studies, and Law, the all-round championship cup was finally given to the Dept. of Journalism & Mass Communication. One member of the department, speaking of his feelings about victory, said "I thought that because all our department's girl teams were eliminated from the tournament, we could not win the athletic meeting.
However, when we won, I was very surprised and happy. But regardless of who wins or loses, I'm happy that all people of the College of Social Sciences get along."
