CWNU held a WEST(Work English Study Travel) program presentation at the No.1 seminar room of The Center for International Relations CWNU on April 28th (Wednesday). The program is composed of language training (5 months), an internship (12 months), sightseeing (1 month), totally 18 months abroad. A study area is in the whole America, and this program will be under the guidance of Education & Science Department.

The WEST program is a Korean & American university student exchange program in connection with language training and an internship with the aim of training a global young leader. The participants get the opportunity to get English training and to experience various cultures of America regarding on-site practical business affairs. The 1st inaugural and 2nd inaugural participants are working in engineering (an IT, computer, engineering), managerial (marketing, an advertisement, trade), administration (government organization, speech, NGO, general administration), service (a hotel, sightseeing, restaurant, cooking, flight) fields.

The number of recruitment are 250 people, and they are supposed to depart on August. Anyone who get over 750 scores in TOEIC test and over level 5 in TOEIC speaking test and whose GPA is over 3. 375 is entitled to apply for the program. The required documents WEST program application form, TOEIC and TOEIC speaking report card, all university year transcript, certificate of registration or graduation certificate, university recommendation under the name of president.

At the time of the 1 inaugural and 2 inaugural program, governmental financial assistance was given to a lower income bracket participant only. However, financial assistance will be granted to a general participant since 3rd inaugural. The Korean scholarship institution is loaning out language training expenses.
